Serene and Nicholas both grew up in Singapore where they met and fell in love. With Nicholas’ encouragement, Serene left her cushy senior executive position in HR to pursue her true calling in dog grooming. In Summer of 2007, Serene went on to graduate from Prestige Grooming Academy, a very rigorous grooming school in Singapore with the emphasis on standard breed cuts and Japanese-styled grooming. She has been awarded a certified groomer by P.S.G Cooperate Union of Japan. Never resting on her laurels, Serene went on to upgrade her hand scissoring and hand stripping skills at the Art of Pets Grooming School, a prestigious grooming school in Singapore under the direction of a very talented Korea Kennel Federation Master Groomer. Her specialties lie in hand scissoring, hand stripping, and trendy Japanese-style kawaii fashion cuts with exceptional attention to details. Serene is celebrated by her clients for her gentle touches and quick hands that are aimed at producing exceptional results even for highly stressed dogs during grooming. Harnessing Serene’s years of vast experience with a strong passion in dog grooming, you can be assured that your doggie companion will be in good and steady hands.
Nicholas, on the other hand, has more than a decade of experience working in the financial planning industry and has been awarded numerous International Quality Class Awards as well as testimonials that are envied by many of his peers. Personable and sociable, he has effective communicative abilities and excellent customer service skills. Be ready to be warmly welcomed by Nicholas as you walk through our door!
In 2010, both Serene and Nicholas uprooted from Singapore and moved to Canada. The first place Serene was grooming after moving to Vancouver is The Dog Republic in Chinatown. It was indeed an eye-opener for her, coming from a small city country with mostly small dogs and limited breeds being kept as pets. After a year there, she was offered the position of Head Groomer at The Pet Shop Boys, an upscale pet boutique located on Cambie St, Vancouver. She spent four years there and was given the opportunity to showcase her skills in the fine art of hand-scissoring and hand-stripping. Serene’s grooming style has gained much popularity and that gave her a huge boost of confidence, knowing that she had been doing everything right. Serene counts her blessing for having the chance to work with all breeds of dogs from teacup Yorkies to giant Newfoundlands. It was indeed a privilege to be exposed to a new world of dog grooming experiences where she got to hone her unique skills.
As for Nicholas, things took a surprising turn in 2012. With no prior experience in the pet industry, he undertook a complete career change and became a doggie daycare attendant at The Pet Shop Boys. It was there that he learned very important dog handling skills and unleashed his love working with dogs! Soon after, he tried his hands as a groomer assistant under the watchful eyes of Serene and has never looked back since.
Serene and Nicholas rescued a Cocker Spaniel back in Singapore and adopted a long-haired Mini-Dachshund when they moved to Vancouver. Now their home is lovingly filled with lots of wet kisses and wagging tails. When Serene and Nicholas are not grooming, they are outdoors enjoying their other leisure pursuit in long distance running.

We both adore dogs and we kind of think that all the dogs we meet know that too! With this love for dogs, together we strive to provide the best grooming services for our valued doggie clients. See you soon!”
