Dana has always had a deep love for animals, but her true passion for dogs began after welcoming her own dog, Charles, into her life. Inspired by their bond, she and her husband made the move from Northern BC to Vancouver to pursue professional training at Animal Haven Dog Grooming School in 2017, where she studied under two master groomers and learned the art of hand stripping and precision grooming.

After gaining valuable experience at a busy salon in downtown Vancouver, Dana joined the team at Suds n Scissors in January 2022. Under the guidance of master groomer Serene, she refined her skills and developed a reputation for her gentle approach, attention to detail, and commitment to each dog’s comfort and style. In April 2025, Dana took over ownership of Suds ‘n’ Scissors, continuing the salon’s legacy of excellence while bringing her own creativity and passion.

Dedicated to lifelong learning, Dana continues her education through industry seminars and is currently working toward earning her Master Groomer Certification. She believes that building trust and fostering a bond with each dog is essential for creating a stress-free, positive grooming experience while delivering precise, detail-oriented grooms.

Outside the salon, Dana is a proud mother to her daughter, her dog, and her cat. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family and exploring her creative passions.

Mana is a graduate of Tokyo Communication Arts College in Japan. For 3 years, she learned to be a dog groomer, dog trainer and vet assistant and when she graduated in 2014, she went on to study dog training in Australia for three months. However things got difficult when she couldn’t speak a word of English so she made the bold move to learn English in Canada. Mana moved to Vancouver in 2014 and worked hard to learn English, while working in the hospitality industry for 2 years. Mana has always love dogs and has never given up the idea to pursue her dream to become a dog groomer. In the Summer of 2017, Mana joined Suds ‘n’ Scissors and is the happiest when she sees the delighted faces of the customers when they come pick up their pups.

With slow steady hands and tons of patience, Mana has a special way to calm the fussiest and most nervous dogs. With the emphasis placed on positive experiences, your doggies are definitely in good hands here with Mana!

During her spare time, Mana loves to draw animals, cook and she loves Salsa dancing and traveling. She dreams of visiting every country in the world.

Meet Rachel, Your Pet Groomer ✂️🐾

Rachel has over 10 years of experience in pet grooming, having trained at Western Dog Grooming School in Maple Ridge, BC (2014) and Kim’s Dog Grooming School in Seoul, Korea (2017). She has cared for dogs of many breeds and personalities, always focusing on making each pet feel safe, comfortable, and well-cared for. Rachel believes in gentle, positive grooming sessions and strives to build trust with both pets and their owners. When she’s not in the salon, she enjoys watching movies and spending quality time with her family and her beloved dog, Winnie.

I completed one year of grooming training in Korea and I am Fear Free® Certified, which means I focus on keeping grooming experiences as low-stress as possible for every dog.

I specialize in Asian Style grooming, bringing out each pet’s unique charm with a gentle, artistic touch. My grooms are designed to be long-lasting and low-maintenance.

My goal is simple: to provide grooming that is cute, gentle, and with minimal stress — for both pets and their families.
